The Difference Between CCS & CCLI
November 4, 2020
One of the questions we are asked most often is, “Why do I need another license? Aren’t we already covered under CCLI?”. The difference between performance licenses (CCS) and reproduction licenses (CCLI) is by far one of THE most confusing issues facing churches.
Both companies have similar names, and both serve the church by providing the latest in licensing solutions. However, each company offers licenses for a unique group of music rights that most churches need to legally cover many everyday activities.
The good news is, CCS and CCLI partner to provide blanket licenses that make legal use of copyrights simple, easy, and affordable for churches and ministries. And it’s not an either-or situation; one license doesn’t replace the other. Instead, the CCS and CCLI licenses work together to provide the broadest comprehensive licensing available.
